A date to remember. Today marks an eventful day for the Chinese national in Bejing,China. Also its Singapore Birthday Eve.



It was the opening of the Bejing olympics 2008. At least 29,000 firework was anticipated for the opening celebration.



Alright, today went by quite fast, started out with a National day celebration at school that was quite meaningless. Thought i'm only interested in the School version of the National Day Parade(NDP) and thought of escaping from school straight after the parade. I should have brought my guitar or something more productive to do... I was literally Bored to death...

Right after the parade i went down to the ground floor with Kah Yong to look at the Relieved Cadets. We were discussing about the pros and cons of going for the CLT course at the end of the year.

Alright after the parade, it was a waste of time cheering for no specific reason... Lame cheer... And i feel i sounded a little childish at this point of time.

Next event on the agenda was the Connect Singapore Charity event. The event was about 30,000 Teenager or students round the island holding hands to recite the pledge. At first i felt that it was a total waste of time. Going throught the trouble of walking towards the destinated point to stand like an inbecile.
But the event showed me someting, communication was of great importance...


Ok... for the next topic on Olympic opening...

The Olympics, a "4-year one time event" (Don't know the word for it) is much anticipated by the Chinese. 7 years ago, the Chinese join together to bid for the olympic 2008 in bejing and they got it. Today it was their national pride to host the games, whereby many businesses will gain from it. The tourism will boost, all these factor could lead to the robustness of China....
Not so much information...
Now down to the celebration at the Bird's nest stadium.... Yupp it correct BIRD'S NEST!! It so traditional...

At the start, the count down to the start of the olympic celebration, was 10 seconds of firework. it fired at every 1 sec. interval till it reach the stadium. Than the performance started to play... 2008 men, performed precision drumming... than Dance performance. Than a painting dance... as in a few men was painting while dancing. It was a very artistic way of expressing themself.

AS my father said, The chinese ws well know for doing things slowly one step at a time. So the painting was slowly completed. After the intial dance painting, Children started to add colours, than it was the colourful foots prints of all the althelics that were marching in for the games.

Singapore team was lead by our Best table tennis play Li Jiawei.

Alright Fireworks rocks.... That all for the special date!!
